The library provides year-round programming for children ages zero to five and special event programming for ages six to seventeen. Presentations featuring both professional and amateur performers are presented throughout the year. All children and teen programs are free to attend and open to the public.
Story times are held on the second, third, fourth and fifth Wednesdays of each month.

Baby Time!: For Newborns-12 months.Thursdays* at 10:30 a.m.
Tiny Tots!: For 13 months-24 months. Wednesdays* at 10:00 a.m.
Camp Bookworm: For 2 year olds – 5 year olds is held on Wednesdays* at 11:00 a.m
Pajama Storytime: Family story-time 3rd Tuesdays* at 6:30 PM
Hulsey Public Library and Jake E’s Riding Round Up Center continue their partnership to provide an opportunity for children and adults with special needs to find peace through Equine Therapy healing. This event will be held at Jake E’s Riding Round-Up 10626 FM 429, Kaufman, TX 75142. Registration is required. Limited transportation provided.

Read to a Dog
Children, ages 4 to 17, are invited to read with Arlo, a certified therapy dog and R.E.A.D. dog with Love on a Leash. This reading confidence program is offered on the first and third Fridays of September through December. Space is limited! Registration is required. Call the library at 972-551-6663 for more information or to register.
The library children’s area provides a place where children can sit and read, play fun literacy games at our AWE station, build something on our Imagination Wall, or draw on our chalk board.
The SPARK! Makers cart contains a wide selection of organized projects designed to promote a sense of discovery and engagement in science, technology, engineering and math. There are activity options for all ages, from preschool through high school, along with a 55-inch interactive touchscreen and computer system.
