Makerspace

Welcome to Makerspace!

A library card is required to make a Makerspace appointment.

This is a space built just for you to dream, plan, and create. All ages are welcome. We have a variety of innovative tools available for in-house use at the Literacy Depot (406 N Rockwall Ave).

Please utilize the Makerspace Booking Page to make an appointment.

Before booking please review the Makerspace Policies (PDF).  You will be required to agree to the Terms & Conditions within the reservation booking.

Because the Makerspace is a place for YOU to learn and create, library staff provide guidance but leave the vision and execution of the projects to you. Training is available to help you learn how to operate the equipment safely to complete your projects with the results you hope to achieve. We also encourage collaboration but will advise you if a project is beyond the scope of our space.

Riter C. Hulsey Public Library follows the definition of a Makerspace which is “a place in which people with shared interests, especially in computing or technology, can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge.” Potentially harmful items or those that violate copyright will not be permitted.

If you have any questions regarding the Makerspace, please email Makerspace (hplmakerspace@cityofterrell.org), or call/stop by during Makerspace open hours and a librarian can assist you with your questions.
