Digital Literacy
About Senior Planet
WINGS is a licensed partner of Senior Planet from AARP, offering digital literacy classes to help adults learn new skills, save money, make new friends, and so much more. Personal devices are recommended, but not required for use during in-person class. Classes do not provide IT Certificates.
In-person Lectures
One-off lectures introduce popular tech topics and themes in a clear and concise manner. Individual lectures aim to explain the general purpose of a device or concept, its usefulness and important tips and tricks. Lectures do not offer hands-on exposure to the presented topic. Lectures are typically 60-75 minutes. No registration is required.
In-person Courses
Senior Planet courses provide a deeper learning and social experience for participants. Unlike lectures and workshops, courses are multi-week commitments and participants are registering for the entire series. Class sessions involve a combination of discussion of new topics and hands-on, practical application of technology skills. OATS provides a detailed, printed course book for each participant to keep after the end of the course. Courses meet twice a week for either 5 or 10 weeks, and each session lasts 75 minutes. Registration is required.
